Dear New Congress: End the war in Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, control of the House of Representatives flipped. In January, we will have the political power to end the United States’ longest war.

But there’s a million things crowding onto the new Congress’ agenda between now and January. We need to make sure ending this war stays high on the list.

The war in Afghanistan has failed. The only path to peace is diplomacy — not more war. After seventeen years, countless lives lost, and trillions of dollars wasted, it is long past time to recall the 15,000 American troops deployed in Afghanistan and end this war for good.
