Win Without War

Pledge to Support the No Ban on Refugees Act

Trump’s Muslim Ban 4.0 would keep out refugees and travelers from 11 nationalities, including:

  • Iraq, where nine years of official war plus five more years of American bombs have contributed to over 500,000 civilian casualties and displaced millions more.
  • Yemen, where the United States continues to enable a horrific Saudi-led military campaign wielding famine and disease as tactics of war against 700,000 civilians.
  • Syria, where American military involvement and lack of a diplomatic strategy have helped displace nearly half of the country’s population and allowed unchecked human rights violations to continue.

Sen. Chris Murphy just introduced the No Ban on Refugees Act (S.2145) to hold the Trump administration accountable for its un-American attempts to ban refugees based on their country of origin. This Thanksgiving, pledge to support the No Ban on Refugees Act and to welcome refugees with dignity and equality.

We, the undersigned, affirm our support for the No Ban on Refugees Act (S.2145).

As Americans, we insist that the United States must remain a place where families fleeing war, persecution, and famine can find refuge.

As Americans, we acknowledge our particular collective responsibility to refugees who seek shelter from the violence and devastation caused by America’s endless wars in their home countries and by the climate change the United States disproportionately drives.

As Americans, we demand that our government reflect these values in welcoming refugees without discriminatory bans by religion or country of origin.
