President Biden sits on three-quarters of a TRILLION dollar Pentagon budget with no plans to cut the budget and reinvest money to our current needs. In fact, he just increased the budget from Trump levels by $12.5 billion! And is one of the people who can raise the flags and push for progressive use of the funds.

Our Representatives have a job and that is to listen to us — help us make sure a budget cut to the Pentagon is a priority!

Our Representatives know we’re counting on them as we look to build a post-COVID future, and we need their commitment and voice to ensure that our communities will come first.

Will you write to today and ask that they raise their voices to ensure we’re no longer making the Pentagon a priority of our funding but other needs such as housing, health care, and food security?

We have lost more than 560,000 lives in the U.S. due to COVID-19. This last year, we saw how fragile our infrastructure is — from freezing pipes in Texas, to no access to clean water for Georgians. We witnessed California fires engulf the West Coast, mass shootings continue to rise, and millions of people lose their jobs and struggle to feed their families. In the face of the trauma continuing from last year, we have seen no promises from President Biden to reallocate funds from the Pentagon budget to our communities.

We are facing urgent crises that cannot be solved by spending excessively on weapons and wars. Budget rollouts have helped guide our spending priorities and can signal hope and care for those in your state. We ask that you vocalize our nation's true priorities and ensure we reallocate Pentagon spending to the needs of the people and not to arms contractors and war.

As we continue to build up our economy and transition to a post-COVID future, we must acknowledge that a $12.5 billion increase in the Pentagon budget from last year is not a win for us but a disastrous decision that will spiral our country into turmoil. I urge you to reject the Biden Pentagon budget and work to move excessive Pentagon spending into our communities.
