Win Without War

Thank you for speaking up — together we will build a more peaceful world

The Doomsday Clock is now 90 seconds to midnight. Even during the height of the Cold War, the Doomsday Clock has never been this close to midnight.

That’s why Win Without War is mobilizing our activists to write letters to the editors of their local newspapers all across the country. These letters will spotlight the heightened risk of nuclear annihilation and urge policymakers to take concrete action to stop the nuclear arms race.

Elected officials from all levels of government including the Biden administration and members of Congress pay close attention to what issues are being discussed in their local newspapers. It’s one way elected officials keep track of what their constituents are saying. That’s why it is one of the most effective ways to bring attention to an issue.

We’ve successfully turned the clock back before and we can do it again. But all of us need to speak out and let our elected officials and key policymakers know that we want them to take concrete actions to stop the nuclear arms race. The U.S. government can freeze the nuclear arms race by finally ratifying the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and recommitting to existing nuclear arms control treaties like New START. Those are just two of the multiple actions the U.S. government can pursue to turn back the clock and take the planet away from the brink of nuclear annihilation.

If you’re committed to stopping the nuclear arms race and building a more peaceful world — we need you to speak up right now.
