Win Without War

Tell Congress: Let's Keep Our Promise. Pass the Afghan Adjustment Act without delay.

While U.S. troops may be home from Afghanistan, for the tens of thousands of Afghan allies who supported the U.S. mission those 20 long years, the battle for safety and stability continues.

The Afghan Adjustment Act (S. 2327/H.R. 4627) was supposed to be the lifeline that put many of these refugees on a path to permanent legal status in the United States. Unfortunately, today, and despite years of promises and rhetoric, Congress has yet to pass this crucial, life-saving legislation.

That means Afghan families here in the United States are struggling in the face of severe bureaucratic delays and a lack of legal status that hinders access to the resources necessary to rebuild their lives. Thousands more remain in Afghanistan at the hands of the Taliban.

It’s beyond time to fulfill this moral obligation. If Congress continues to fail, so many people — individuals who supported the U.S. government in Afghanistan, who evacuated at great risk, and who have worked to rebuild their lives — could be deported. But that terrifying fate is not a foregone conclusion: If enough of us speak out now, we have a real opportunity to get Congress to pass this bill and send it to the president’s desk. Will you add your voice?

We cannot continue to let these families slip through the cracks. Let’s use the third anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan as a rallying point to push Congress into action. Tell Congress: Finish the job and PASS the Afghan Adjustment Act!
