Win Without War

Urge President Biden: Ensure humanitarian aid and refuge for Afghans!

A disaster is unfolding in Afghanistan as tens of thousands of people attempt to flee in fear of a return to life under a violent, repressive regime.

People in Afghanistan are facing a humanitarian catastrophe, with women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and children at greater risk for violence and forced displacement. And after four decades of U.S. intervention and occupation, the U.S. government’s top priority must be to do everything it can to save Afghan lives.

Right now, the United States is still planning to withdraw all troops by August 31, and it is unclear who will control the Kabul airport — a key exit point — after they depart. That means we have just days to help get as many people to safety as possible.

As activists who oppose war and seek to build a better future, we need your help — because the louder we get, the more pressure we build:

Tell the Biden administration to ensure humanitarian aid will be delivered to Afghans and to remove the refugee cap for Afghan refugees accepted into the United States.

To President Biden:

Saving Afghan lives must be your top priority. I urge you to remove U.S. refugee caps on Afghanistan and to expand access and eligibility under the Temporary Protected Status, special immigration visa, and P1, P2, and P3 refugee programs, immediately.

Humanitarian aid must also remain available and accessible to Afghans without interruption, and the administration must continue working to guarantee safe travel out of Afghanistan by ensuring the Hamid Karzai International Airport is kept open to commercial flights.
