Peacemakers from Israel and Palestine recently joined Win Without War to meet with key members of Congress and other government officials, the media, and other movement leaders.
They couldn’t have come at a more crucial moment. Negotiations are happening around a second ceasefire now — and with a looming famine in Gaza, the Israeli military’s bombs continuing to fall, and U.S. strikes escalating tensions across the Middle East, it’s crucial the violence stops immediately.
A ceasefire can make a massive and immediate positive difference in people’s lives. A ceasefire can save lives in Gaza by stopping the bombing and allowing opportunities for critically needed humanitarian relief. It can help ensure the remaining hostages are safely reunited with their loved ones. A ceasefire can provide safety for people in Israel, Palestine, and beyond.
How do we know? Because for seven days in November, it did exactly those things.
Every bomb that lands, every building that crumbles, and every life that is cut short is a reminder that we need to go further to end the violence. That’s why we need EVERY member of Congress speaking out for the violence to end with renewed energy and purpose today.
The first ceasefire happened because people like you made sure lawmakers knew we wouldn’t settle for anything less. Add your name to call on Congress to do all they can by joining and amplifying the call for a ceasefire now.
