Win Without War

Congress: It’s time to get behind diplomacy with Iran!

Great news: the United States and Iranian governments are returning to the negotiating table.

President Obama brokered the critical peace deal known as the JCPOA in 2015, but Trump backed out — and pushed us closer toward the brink of war. Now, President Biden and State Department officials are eager to re-enter to put us on a new path with Iran.

Diplomacy is our best chance at creating lasting peace and cooling down the nuclear arms race that has put our world on edge since WWII. And if we want to see it succeed, we need to ensure that diplomats have as much space as possible to negotiate a strong and lasting peace, and that means ensuring Congress doesn’t get in their way.

Will you take a moment to ask your members of Congress to make a public statement in support of diplomacy with Iran?

To members of the 117th U.S. Congress:

Returning to the Iran deal — which the United States unilaterally left – is a necessary requirement for effective, broader diplomacy with Iran. It is our chance for a long-term diplomatic approach to Iran, and across the wider region, that ultimately minimizes suffering and fosters a lasting peace.

We deserve to live in a more peaceful world. I urge you to publicly support diplomacy and to do everything in your power to ensure that the United States works to return to the Iran deal.
