Would you spend BILLIONS on dangerous, wasteful nukes we don’t need?
The answer should be simple: “No.” But unfortunately, Congress is leading us down the path to a nuclear weapons heyday.
Hawks like the top Republican on the House Strategic Forces Subcommittee, Rep. Doug Lamborn (CO-5), are working overtime to pour BILLIONS of dollars into apocalyptically dangerous weapons like unnecessary nuclear sea-launched cruise missiles.
This backward thinking only accelerates a nuclear arms race to the bottom that could end the world as we know it — and with the war raging in Ukraine, that thinking is the exact opposite of what we need to promote peace.
Thankfully, it’s not a done deal. Negotiations around the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a must-pass bill that sets the spending priorities for over three-quarters of a TRILLION dollars are underway as we speak. That means we have a chance to push back and remind Congress: We say no more nukes!
