Win Without War

Tell Your Senators: Repeal the 2002 AUMF!

Earlier this summer, the House took a critical step toward ending our endless wars by passing legislation to repeal the outdated 2002 Iraq war authorization. It’s a historic moment showing the power of our organizing, but this work is far from over. Because we’ve been here — and we’ve been stopped here — before.

This year though? This year is the year we can go farther than we have in the past. President Biden has signaled his support to get rid of outdated laws like the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has just thrown its support to get this repeal to the floor for a vote.

That means there’s just *one* thing between making this repeal a reality: the full Senate.

Right now, we need to get louder than ever to make sure that the 2002 AUMF repeal makes it to President Biden’s desk. Can you take two minutes right now to write to your Senators and urge them to support repealing the 2002 AUMF?

To members of the U.S. Senate:

With reports indicating that S.J.Res.10 has the support of 60 Senators, it’s time for the Senate to vote and send 2002 AUMF repeal legislation to President Biden’s desk.

The White House has officially signalled support for this measure, making this a critical moment where we can begin to end our nation’s forever wars. I urge you to support legislation to repeal the 2002 AUMF today and demand that Majority Leader Schumer make time for it on the calendar as soon as possible.
