March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility — a chance to celebrate transgender people and amplify our voices as we fight for our rights to survive free from hate and persecution.

Each year, our government approves BILLIONS of dollars in "security assistance" to some of the world's worst human rights abusers — regimes that routinely attempt to silence queer expression and hide queer personhood. If we want to get serious about human rights, we cannot continue to fund the very military and police forces that harass, imprison, and kill trans people around the globe.

President Biden has shown himself to be someone willing to fight for transgender rights, but more than a year after taking office, the systemic harm directed at our community continues. President Biden should take action by ending assistance and training programs that contribute to the militarization of other countries’ domestic police forces — and we can push him to do it!
