Tell President Biden: Close Guantanamo Bay!

Guantanamo Bay Detention Center has been a stain on the United States' claimed commitment to human rights, justice, and the rule of law for decades. The facility has housed nearly 800 prisoners, including many who have been subjected to waterboarding, sleep deprivation, and other forms of "enhanced interrogation techniques" — meaning torture.

This horrific chapter of U.S. history was recently brought into new focus when former prisoner Mansoor Adayfi revealed that Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida personally witnessed him being force-fed and tortured, as reported by Democracy Now in early April. As more detainees come forward to corroborate Adayfi's account, it is crucial that we seize this moment to end an era of injustice and impunity.

During his 2020 campaign, President Joe Biden made a solemn promise: As president, he would close Guantanamo Bay. Now, as we approach the end of his first term, it is time to hold the president accountable for this pledge — and you can help push him to act.

Biden's past promise may not be enough, but public pressure can help tip the balance toward justice and accountability. Add your name: Demand that President Biden closes Guantanamo once and for all.
