A foreign policy that can be bought, influenced, and corrupted is not one that represents the values of the United States or who we aspire to be. November's impeachment hearings have provided further evidence that in his role as president, Donald Trump dangerously subordinated the interests and security of everyday individuals around the world to his own political ambitions and pursuit of power.

The costs of allowing such egregious acts to go unpunished are simply too high. Nobody is above the law. The U.S. Constitution's checks and balances require Congress to do its job and hold Trump accountable through the impeachment process.
