Even as powerful members of Congress across the political spectrum demand answers for the Pentagon’s illegal bombing campaign in the Caribbean and Pacific, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has vowed to press on.
The death toll is rising. And evidence is growing that orders to strike boats and then bomb the survivors in the Caribbean were both plainly criminal and directed from the very top. If we were at war, these orders would amount to a war crime. But we’re not at war and none of this has been authorized — this is simply murder.
This campaign is the latest move by an out-of-control Defense Secretary who abuses his power, undermines the rule of law, and actively harms communities here and abroad, and we demand accountability.
Impeachment is how Congress must check Secretary Hegseth’s reckless actions and stop him from inflicting future harm. Unfortunately, without sustained pressure from constituents, lawmakers are unlikely to act with the urgency necessary to meet the moment. That’s where we come in.
