Win Without War

Tell the Biden administration to enforce U.S. law and stop the free flow of weapons to Israel

The pressure is working — we’re seeing the Biden administration shift its messaging on the Israeli government’s military campaign in Gaza. President Biden, Vice President Harris, and other administration officials have started calling for an immediate ceasefire for at least six weeks. And they’ve also taken actions to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza.

This didn’t happen in a vacuum — it happened because of the relentless wave of activism from people all over the country.

These steps from the White House are a welcome change, but they are not enough. As long as the U.S. government continues its unconditional support of the Israeli government by supplying it with the weapons it’s using in Gaza — no amount of humanitarian aid will be enough.

That’s why Senator Bernie Sanders and six other senators sent a letter to the White House demanding that the U.S. government enforce U.S. laws that would stop supplying the Israeli government with weapons. One of these laws is a little-known statute from the 1990s called the Humanitarian Aid Corridor Act — and that law prohibits the U.S. government from sending arms to any government that interferes with or prohibits U.S. humanitarian aid from reaching people.
