No Funds for Trump’s Wars

The first order of business when Congress returns to session will be voting on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a bill that could authorize $1.15 trillion for the Pentagon — $1.15 trillion for Trump’s warmongering.

One more dime for bombs and bloodshed is a non-starter. Congress must rein in this lawless president immediately. Here’s where things stand: A resounding majority of Americans oppose Trump’s illegal and disastrous Iran War. Congress passed a first-of-its-kind war powers resolution ordering Trump to end it. Now, he’s abandoned diplomacy and escalated instead, putting millions of people in Iran and across the Middle East in harm’s way.

Congress must reassert its power over a president who believes he is above the law. In the coming days, they’ll have a key chance to do exactly that by rejecting his proposed war budget.
