The Senate Must Vote NO on Russell Vought for OMB Director

The chaos and confusion we recently saw is merely a hint of what we’ll see moving forward if the Senate confirms Russell Vought, Trump’s pick to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the brain trust behind a funding freeze that brought vital health programs, lifesaving research, infrastructure investment and more screeching to a halt.

Wildly — even as families across the globe picked up the pieces and tried to log back into portals or access health clinics that were closed in the aftermath of the OMB’s freeze — Senate Republicans pushed Vought’s nomination through its first hurdle and out of committee.

The next step is a full floor vote. If you are confused, worried, or outraged in response to this crisis, we need you to speak out immediately.

Here’s how this works: When you sign this petition (and you should sign it, even if you’ve signed others that are similar!), it’ll trigger an automatic email to your Senator, letting them know that constituents like you, along with tens of thousands of others oppose Vought’s nomination.

Every. single. one of those messages is a signal that you’re paying attention and demand so much better than an unreliable and capricious government that would see children and seniors suffer. So let’s pile on and send a loud and clear message to every senator: Vote ‘No’ on Russell Vought for OMB Director!

To members of the U.S. Senate:

Trump’s nominee to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget is the embodiment of executive overreach, and the recent chaos resulting from OMB’s January 2025 funding freeze memo is only a hint of what communities will experience if he’s confirmed.

I urge you to reject Russell Vought’s nomination.
