The U.S. government continues to bankroll unconscionable violence — including settler violence which has killed nine Americans in the West Bank. 

Whether they’re targeting olive harvesters, families who have farmed the land for generations, members of Congress, news crews, or others, the scale of Israeli settler violence seems to know no bounds.

But right now, momentum is growing to turn the tide. Today, the Senate is set to vote on a privileged resolution from Sens. Van Hollen (D-MD), Kaine (D-VA), and Sanders (I-VT) demanding a State Department investigation on violence in the West Bank. 

It’s a rarely used but powerful maneuver for two key reasons: 1) It isn’t subject to a president’s veto, and 2) Confirmation of human rights violations in the West Bank could spell an END to arms sales and other offensive U.S. assistance to the Israeli government.
