Nearly twenty years ago this October, Congress authorized the invasion of Iraq, giving a greenlight to a military intervention that destroyed hundreds of thousands of lives. Here's the state of play: Earlier this year, the House included Rep. Barbara Lee's amendment to repeal the 02 AUMF in its version of the NDAA — a must pass defense bill that is all but certain to go to the president’s desk AND get his signature. That means, there's just one thing standing in our way: The U.S. Senate.
