Tell Congress: We Need a Lasting Ceasefire in Gaza

After weeks of incredible violence and suffering, there’s a bright spot of hope: The Israeli government hasapproved a temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

When enacted, this agreement will mean some of the hostages will finally be reunited with their families, and people in Gaza will have a respite from the Israeli government’s bombings as well as more access to crucial humanitarian aid. This deal is a breakthrough in de-escalation, and we commend the Biden administration for their role in securing it.

Our voices, petitions, phone calls, and protests — together with those from people across the country and the globe — are making a profound impact. Now that we’ve come this far, we need to build the kind of broad support in Congress that can sustain a deal like this, long-term.

While the long holiday weekend is already beginning for many people across the country, members of Congress and their staff are working overtime on this issue. So, let’s make sure that as they make crucial decisions about what happens next, your voices are in their ears.
