Win Without War

Tell Congress: Pass a Yemen War Powers Resolution

President Biden is dragging his feet on a campaign promise to end U.S. involvement in the Saudi-UAE-led coalition’s war in Yemen, and time is running out.

Right now, a fragile and life-saving two-month truce has eased a blockade that prevented people from accessing food, fuel, aid, and medical supplies. But millions still suffer from malnutrition and disease, and the warring parties are far from committing to a durable peace. If the truce is not renewed as soon as possible, the fighting – and the humanitarian crisis it fuels – could not only resume, but get worse.

The clock is ticking, and if the President won’t act, then Congress must. It’s time to pass a War Powers Resolution to unilaterally end U.S. involvement in the war in Yemen and pressure the Saudi and Emirati governments to work to finally end the conflict. Luckily, Reps. Jayapal, DeFazio, Schiff, and Mace are planning to introduce one any moment now — and that means it’s time for activists like us to get to work!

We can’t let a single member of Congress rest until they do everything in their power to pass this long overdue legislation. It’s up to us to make sure that our energy turns into VOTES.
