Congress, Don’t Delay: Impeach Pete Hegseth!

Pete Hegseth’s days at the Pentagon are numbered. Control of the House and Senate flipped, and incoming lawmakers made one thing abundantly clear: impeaching Defense Secretary Hegseth will be their TOP priority.

If you think that’s welcome news, we’ll raise you something even better: A key opportunity to push Pete out of the Pentagon is happening in a matter of days when lawmakers return for the lame duck session — and momentum to hold the Secretary accountable just skyrocketed.

Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-KY) articles of impeachment were supposed to come up for a vote before the House left for its pre-election recess, until Speaker Johnson cowardly sent lawmakers back home early to avoid a vote that could have embarrassed the Trump administration. But Johnson can’t delay things forever, and Rep. Massie is vowing a “week one” vote on Hegseth’s impeachment.

Voters unequivocally rebuked the warmongering and reckless violence that Hegseth has enabled as head of the Pentagon, but that doesn’t make the current majorities in Congress easier to overcome. Together, we need to bring all the pressure of the election on lawmakers who must impeach Hegseth NOW — before he can do any more damage.

To members of the 119th House of Representatives:

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has engaged in illegal wars in Iran and Yemen, used Pentagon authority to retaliate against lawmakers exercising their constitutional rights, recklessly endangered civilians, and ordered extrajudicial killings off the coast of South America.

These lawless actions have directly resulted in incredible harm and suffering. Secretary Hegseth must be held accountable. I urge you to swiftly pass articles of impeachment to remove him from office.
