Win Without War

Thank You Special Envoy Robert Malley & the U.S. negotiating team!

The lead U.S. diplomat negotiating the new Iran nuclear deal, Robert Malley, testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday. And he delivered one simple message: Trump’s maximum pressure campaign on Iran was a stunning failure and the only way to protect U.S. national security is with a new Iran deal.

But skeptical senators and Iran hawks are STILL doing everything in their power to derail diplomacy. During the hearing they pulled out every trick in the book trying to undermine Special Envoy Malley — stacking the panel with deal opponents and completely excluding the perspectives of women and people on the ground who have shaped U.S. policy towards Iran as officials, independent experts, and outside advocates. But Malley stayed strong, and showed why a nuclear deal is in the best interests of people in the United States, Iran, and across the globe.

We can’t let these attacks on diplomacy become business as usual. Because it’s not only bad for the Iran deal — when our best diplomats are on the receiving end of baseless smears for taking on a critical challenge to avoid war and work toward peace, the hawks win by deterring others from this work.

Your message of support will not only be appreciated by the Special Envoy and his team, it will also send an important political signal that we want our government to solve problems with diplomacy — and not violence.
