Senator Graham: Apologize now!

On Tuesday, Senator Lindsey Graham slid in a casual bigoted joke on Fox & Friends about how “it would be terrible” to discover he had Iranian ancestry.

If we don’t make a GIANT fuss calling out Lindsey Graham’s casual bigotry that dehumanizes Iranians, we will be letting him set another brick on the path to a devastating war with Iran. We can’t let that happen.

That’s why Win Without War is joining with the National Iranian American Council to say enough is enough. As Iranian-Americans and their allies, we reject anti-Iranian bigotry. As proud members and friends of the Iranian-American community, we demand that you publicly apologize for remarking on Fox and Friends that it would be “terrible” to discover that you had Iranian ancestry.

The Iranian and Iranian-American people deserve an apology from you for making Iranian heritage a joke, calling it ‘terrible,’ and fueling the flames of war. There is no excuse for bigotry, and no room for hatred in America any longer—especially from an elected official on national television.
