Mike Pompeo is the keystone in Donald Trump’s war cabinet. He’s also a torture apologist, a climate denier, and an anti-Muslim hard-liner who has no business being Secretary of State.

Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State would put our communities, our nation, and our world in extreme danger. As CIA Director and in Congress, Pompeo has:

Threatened regime change in North Korea
Used his positions of power to undermine the historic Iran Deal
Championed America’s endless wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and beyond
Spouted anti-Muslim views and cozied up to extremist anti-Muslim friends
Embraced torture
Denied that climate change is real
Pushed anti-woman, anti-LGBTQ, anti-abortion ideologies

As Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo would not only implement his own pro-war, anti-diplomacy views, he would also be in a position to enable the dangerous war agenda of John Bolton and, should she be confirmed, the torture agenda of Gina Haspel as CIA director. I urge you to use your platform at Pompeo’s Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing to publicly clarify the dangers of confirming Mike Pompeo as our nation’s top diplomat.
